GERMANY

Stunning Nature Tours

Germany is full of wondrous and impressive landscapes that have evolved over millions of years. Subject to wind, weather and the laws of nature, bizarre rock formations, perfectly round lakes and deep gorges have emerged. Between the shores of the North or East Sea in the north to the mountain range Alps in the south, you can find unique and breathtaking venues. Because of that, it is a perfect destination for nature lovers.

Bastei

„The Bastei- a rock formation – in the national park Elbsandsteingebirge only one hour East of Dresden is the most popular day trip destination in the region. I am still fascinated from the view down onto the gracefully sweeping Elbe River and the miniature world on its banks from the lofty height, where I stood. I enjoyed the fresh air and the uplifting feeling of being on top of the world.
Being back to Dresden, my favorite place to stay overnight is Hotel Taschenberg Palais close to river Elbe, the palace and opera.“

Black Forest

„Already the location of the waterfalls in Triberg in the middle of the Black Forest is enchanting. Pine trees, windy narrow roads, and small towns with old half-timbered farmhouses. I took the easier hike down the waterfalls into the quaint town of Triberg, where they sell speck, cherry cake or cherry schnaps and -of course- cuckoo clocks.
There are a few 5-star hotels around and it is a hard choice. Last time I went to Hotel Traube Tonbach in Baiersbronn. What an extraordinary hotel in the heart of the Black Forest. Not only because of the 3-star Michelin cuisine in the hotel.

Zugspitze

Zugspitze is Germany’s highest mountain and located in the south of the country, right at the border to Austria. Just 30 min away from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the first winter holiday destination of Germany. Numerous hikes or mountain bike trails are available in this region, several also up to the peak of mount Zugspitze. Of course, it is much easier to take the cock wheel train up to the glacier, from where you can see 150 miles on excellent days.

Not far away from here, in a nature protection area and close to the picturesque town of Murnau, the little gem Hotel Alpenhof Murnau lies.
